Paint, decoration, automobile bodywork, automotive technology, masonry, floor tile, computer Assisted drawing, milling, robotics, personal assistance : 10 professions were registered this year by the Réunion academy in the regional selections of the 47th WorldSkills competition, the Skills Olympiad.
The World Vocational Skills Championships are held every two years in different parts of the world. This global competition highlights the importance of professional skills (the professions), their contribution to the economy and the personal fulfillment they bring to individuals. The regional academic delegation for initial and continuing professional training (DRAFPIC) of the Réunion academy organized this year the regional tests on March 30 and 31 in several professional high schools. Next step : the nine winners of the Reunion regional selections will defend the colors of the island at the national finals in September in Lyon. At stake, a place to be won for the global competition which will also be held in Lyon in September 2024. The Réunion academy wishes to expand this competition to 60 other professions from the next competition which will take place in 2025.
