More than 50 models of Whirlpool ovens, of the W Collection ranges, Absolute, Evolution, have received the prestigious European Longtime label after strict and impartial control by Apave, international group specializing in risk management.

Committed for over 60 years to the durability of its devices, Whirlpool obtient la certification Longtime. This process led to the evaluation of 41 criteria in order to assess repairability, the robustness and warranty conditions of the devices. Created by Ethikis, Longtime is the first European and independent label (supported in France by Ademe) which identifies and promotes products designed to last.
Extending the lifespan is one of the most effective strategies for reducing the environmental impact of a product., Whirlpool mobilizes its Research and Development teams to offer consumers ever more sustainable products. By adopting this approach, Whirlpool products are designed to last, from their design to their use by consumers. By voluntarily registering for this labeling process and agreeing to subject its oven ranges to detailed inspection, by Apave’s external and impartial audit, the Whirlpool group goes further than its simple legal obligation and voluntarily commits to greater transparency towards its distribution partners and consumers.

41 criteria studied
“By awarding this label, Whirlpool France affirms its commitment to offering consumers durable and easily repairable products, summarizes Pierre Duchier, general manager at Whirlpool France. Choosing to go through the independent label Longtime proves that our commitment is concrete. As a leader and responsible actor, Whirlpool wants to be a pioneer so that our sector's practices are more virtuous and respectful of the planet. »
To benefit from this labeling, 41 criteria were studied, going from design to marketing, passing through the examination of the production line. These criteria aim to evaluate the ability to extend the lifespan of objects, to make them more robust and more easily repairable, meeting the economic and ecological expectations of consumers and distributors. They are based on three pillars. Robustness : conception, typology of rooms, documentation, scalability. Repairability : disassembly, documentation, spare parts, After-sales service under warranty, Out-of-warranty after-sales service. Warranty conditions : types the warranty, time and conditions, advice for use and maintenance.

Quick repair, simple and economical
Upstream : devices are subjected to thousands of operating cycles. These endurance tests are particularly demanding and take into account user feedback from consumers.. Before being used, these devices are subject to continuous quality control to ensure compliance.
in endorsement : all parts of the ovens are easily repairable and at an affordable price. Indeed, disassembly and reassembly of each part of the oven is done in just 30 minutes. All spare parts are available to everyone (consumers and repairers) at a price less than 20%, beyond the benchmark set at 35% of the sale price of the oven. Finally, Whirlpool is the first manufacturer to guarantee 10 years of availability of spare parts on the European market.
For Christophe Cailleux, Director of Quality and Guarantee at Whirlpool France, “this label is proof of the daily commitment of all of our teams against planned obsolescence. We are proud that Whirlpool has satisfied, from labeling, to all the very strict criteria retained by Longtime. » Whirlpool thus validates the company's integrated strategy focused on quality and sustainability. The brand can show that repairability is one of its major strengths by promoting rapid repair, simple, and economical of its products, rather than purchasing a new device.
