Weva.re looking for collection points

Five months after its launch, Weva.re, “the supermarket drives local production”, develops its concept of online sales of exclusively local products with collection of purchases in partner stores or at workplaces. The platform seeks to increase the number of collection points to develop a local network around the island.

Notice to businesses and businesses, business centers, espaces de co-working, institutions, sharing the fight for local production : the start-up Weva launches a call to join its network of collection points. Goal : build, in stages, a network around the island. The platform in fact builds its model on two pillars. A : the cause of local production with an offer of products made in Reunion, covering all categories, in order to prove that you can almost do all your shopping by buying pei. Of them : a new way of consuming thanks to a network of collection points located near you, on the journey between home and work, even in the workplace itself, because companies can also choose to offer this service to their staff. How it works ? Once the basket is filled, a collection point is chosen from a list. If the order is placed before 9 a.m., the purchase can be collected the same day from 4 p.m. and within the closing hours of the collection point. Otherwise, the day after. The purchase can be collected in a secure locker using a number and a padlock code transmitted by Weva.re.

Practical interest
For the consumer : no need to systematically go shopping in the supermarket. For the trader : in exchange for the installation of a locker unit (the size of a small dresser), it attracts new customers who can take advantage of it to complete their shopping. Bakeries, of course, were among the first businesses interested. But we also find wine cellars and florists among the Weva.re collection points. “It’s an exchange of good processes and good practices between the merchant and us. Simplify people's lives, promote local products, support local employment. We all have to gain” summarize Anne Duroure and Jean-François Pouliquen, the two founders of Weva.re, who hired two young people on a work-study basis.
General public and professional collection points
The project started with collection points at the Port, in Saint-Leu and Saint-Paul. New collection points have recently strengthened the network at La Possession where, in addition to a professional collection point intended for municipal staff, the town hall offered Weva.re access to three public buildings as general public collection points. Weva.re now wishes to extend its reach to the North and the South, on Saint-Denis and Saint-Pierre, and all around the island. Particularly in tourist areas : tourists are a privileged clientele for local crafts. Collection points in tourist structures such as holiday centers, are perfectly possible.

The pei offer better visible
The Weva.re offer is under construction. It starts with fruits and vegetables, salty and sweet grocery stores, dairy products, drinks (eau, fruit juice, beer), the bread, buns, pastries, and hygiene-beauty items. It combines industrial products or artisanal products, well-known brands (many, Mascarin, Le Forban, Yami, Chatel, Doulux, etc.) and artisanal brands to discover (Uprobio, Alexandra workshop, Kalou-Pilon, By Rossolin, Bourbon Bulbul, etc.). The common point between all, is to be manufactured locally and to offer a quality alternative to imports. Weva.re thus provides the opportunity to better understand the extent of the pei offer.
