On the occasion of the end of year celebrations, a limited edition of Menthe-Pastille is revealed every year. In 2023, it’s a collection of three limited edition bottles, titled Balloons, which pays homage to the history of Giffard.
Created in 1885 in Angers by Émile Giffard, Menthe-Pastille, emblem of the Giffard house, is a liqueur made from Mitcham peppermint, whose secret recipe is passed down from generation to generation. Liqueur gone vintage, she returns to the forefront with undeniable assets : its peppermint flavor, its inimitable freshness and its Angevin production. The Ballons trilogy honors Émile Giffard and his son and successor, Maurice Giffard. It all starts at the end of the 19th century, the time of the first universal exhibitions, where Émile Giffard won numerous medals with his Menthe-Pastille liqueur. As for his son, Maurice Giffard, who ran the family business from 1904 to 1954, he was an enthusiast of balloon crossings and airship flights. In 1908, he participated in the creation of the Western Aeroclub. The Ballon limited series celebrates this era, these two men and their passions, who have shaped the history and identity of Menthe-Pastille.

We find, on the main label of the three bottles of the Ballons collection, the iconic Menthe-Pastille logo, with its green color. Special feature of these bottles, they adorn themselves with a hot air balloon, rose, orange or navy blue depending on the bottle, with the name of its founder, AND. Giffard inscribed on the airship. On both sides of the drawing, the initials M. and P. appear in the same color. For a more festive touch, the traditionally gray elements of the label have been enhanced with a coppery gold to harmonize with the details of each bottle.
