Le groupe mauricien The United Basalt Products Limited (UBP) reached an important milestone in its growth, last July 1st, by finalizing the acquisition of the construction division of the Leandri group, a pillar in the construction sector in Reunion.
The Bazalt Réunion holding company was born from this acquisition. Its ten companies are divided into two segments of the construction sector. The first includes three industrial companies that manufacture products similar to those of UBP and Premix in Mauritius, especially ready-mixed concrete, aggregates, concrete blocks and various prefabricated concrete products, as well as a major cement subsidiary in big bags : Préfabéton and its subsidiary Prefinvest, Sigemat and its subsidiary Siginvest, Soreco and Ancudine. The second segment includes four commercially oriented companies which mainly operate in the VRD market. (roads and networks

The flagship company in this segment is Anzemberg, which has three subsidiaries, ALD, ACM and Dimatechniques. “These are professions that we know and master, comments Stéphane Ulcoq, CEO of UBP. The acquisition of this group of companies constitutes a major strategic choice, marking the start of a new era for our group. » UBP has been present in Reunion since 2019 via its subsidiary Drymat, which markets ready-to-use mortars and tile adhesives manufactured by Drymix in Mauritius.
