The Region has taken action, last March 28, the creation of the House of Cinema and Video Games, structure which aims to take the image industry sectors to a new stage in their structuring and development.
Reunion Island has established itself in recent years as a land of cinematographic filming., notably thanks to the support of the Réunion film agency and Nexa. An ecosystem was formed in this dynamic, the production of animated films developed in the wake of Pipangaï, and a “video games” sector is emerging. The House of Cinema and Video Games is created in the form of a management, “in charge of supporting the development and structuring of the audiovisual sector, cinema and video games, of the co-production of units, films and series for television, cinema and new media and the exercise of any complementary activity”. His starting team is made up of four people. An envelope of 700,000 euros was voted by the Region to finance its first actions.
