Christopher Sans, president of the National Union of Liberal Professions (UNAPL), went to Reunion at the end of October, “to highlight the crucial role of liberal professions in the local economy”.
During this visit, he participated in the restitution of the results of a study on the management of diversity in business. The figures revealed by the study reveal a worrying situation. 31% of employees interviewed say they have been victims of discrimination at work ; 67% of employees resign within a year of experiencing discrimination ; 70% of managers of small structures deal with these questions alone, but 47% believe they do not have the necessary tools to deal with it ; only 26% of employees feel sufficiently informed about diversity issues within their company. In order to support these professionals, UNAPL has launched a self-diagnostic tool to assess diversity management and announces the creation of a House of Liberal Professions, planned for 2025. “These initiatives aim to remove these professions from “the blind spot” economic and to strengthen their attractiveness », estimates UNAPL.
