The professional organization for the prevention of building and public works (OPPBTP) is now active in Réunion. This national structure supports construction companies to develop their culture of professional risk prevention (accident and illness) by implementing targeted collective and individual actions. It offers a range of services adapted to each size of business, profession or level of maturity in prevention. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor, its governance is ensured by representatives of professional organizations and trade union organizations in the construction sector. The OPPBTP plans to deploy to construction companies in overseas departments a service equivalent to that enjoyed by their mainland counterparts.. A first sequence of actions took place in Reunion from September 5 to 16, with the assistance of the Department of Economy, employment, work and solidarity, of the General Social Security Fund, of the Confederation of crafts and small construction companies (CAPEB) and the Regional Federation of Building and Public Works (FRBTP). 124 people representing 53 companies participated.
