This label will recognize the making of a number of ambitious commitments by the platforms concerned in terms of loyalty and transparency towards their business partners., consumer protection, of social responsibility, environmental or tax.
The launch of this label was jointly announced by Alain Griset, Minister Delegate in charge of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Cédric O, Secretary of State responsible for digital transition and electronic communications. Its criteria and conditions for obtaining will be presented in the first half of 2021. This label of virtuous online marketplaces reinforces the government's commitment to improve the business practices of a number of online sales platforms. A charter for e-commerce players was thus put in place on March 26, 2019 to guarantee loyal and transparent relations between e-commerce platforms and French VSEs and SMEs.. The first signatories were Boulanger, Cdiscount, Conforama, eBay, Fnac-Darty, La Redoute, The good corner, Mano-Mano et Rakuten.
The charter for e-commerce players
Today, the charter is evolving to take into account the entry into force of the European regulation promoting fairness and transparency for companies using online intermediation services, known as “platform-to-business” regulation which guarantees even more objective control of commitments linked to the charter of e-commerce players. The renewal of the charter allows an evaluation of the signatory platforms in six months, as part of an exercise conducted jointly by the Business Mediation and the Business Directorate (DGE). All of the first signatories, as well as five other platforms, have committed to the terms of this new charter : Amazon, LDLC, Backmarket a C Tideal. Note that with these last two companies, the charter welcomes two members of French Tech Next40 and FT120, testifying to the quality of French companies capable of becoming the technological leaders of tomorrow.
