Committed to the animal cause, the metropolitan inventor of direct sales pet food was in Reunion from June 7 to 9 for an operation to collect litter and adopt abandoned dogs, collected in shelter, which made it possible to collect 1,7 tonnes of waste and saving nine dogs.

Launched in mainland France in 2014, Ultra Premium Direct is the pioneer of Direct to Consumer Pet Food : direct sale of kibble for dogs and cats on the brand's website with fast delivery (48 hours max), as well as on site at the factory. Resulting in premium foods at unbeatable prices (- 40% compared to market prices !) due to the elimination of intermediaries. The company, also a pioneer in food for dogs and cats made without grain in France, intends to accelerate its growth by focusing on further improved product quality and customer service, while duplicating its model in Europe. In 2021 and 2022, Ultra Premium Direct has joined the French Tech 120, and was named among the “Champions of Growth” by Les Échos/Statista. The company was also elected “Best online commerce site” in the pet store category in 2022 by Capital magazine.. In November 2021, Ultra Premium Direct opened its first store in Montauban in Tarn-et-Garonne. It is therefore an innovative company with the wind in its sails which carried out an operation on the island in June called “Together for the Ocean” highlighting the animal cause and environmental protection.. Three days during which Ultra Premium Direct was not alone. The operation was carried out in collaboration with YouCare associations, among other things, creator of the 1% for animals label (aimed at companies committing to donating 1% of their turnover to the animal cause) and PropRéunion, active in cleaning campaigns and which defends the zero waste objective in Reunion Island.

Missions accomplished
The Together for the Ocean team, led by Ultra Premium Direct, visited a shelter and brought eight dogs back to mainland France. Currently in foster care, the YouCare association is now looking for a family for them. There are more than a thousand adoption requests. The team also visited the Kélonia turtle care center which works to protect sea turtles.. On this occasion, a turtle was released into the ocean and more than twenty velvety trees, whose presence promotes the laying of turtle eggs, were planted around the beaches. Then the team carried out a cleaning walk on the beach of Sainte-Suzanne, in the company of several inhabitants of the island and volunteers from the PropRéunion association. At the end of the morning, the collective had collected 1,7 tonnes of waste and rescued an abandoned puppy on site, who has since found a family there. Finally, 1,000 copies of a reusable “Together for the Ocean” bottle were put on sale on ultrapremiumdirect.com. Each bottle sold will finance the removal of 5 kg of plastic from the oceans. Once all the bottles are sold, this will therefore be 5,000 kg of plastic cleaned from the ocean.

Sophie Wincker, co-founder of Ultra Premium Direct

“This operation gave meaning to our daily work and allowed us to refocus on strong values : love of animals, the passion that drives us every day, commitment and mutual aid. Concrete missions were carried out on site to initiate real change and act on our scale to change things. We discovered a reality that concerns us all and laid the first stones of a beautiful building that we are all building together to make the future more beautiful.. »
