Building on the success of the second 2020-2021 edition, Crédit Agricole de La Réunion, in partnership with Bottin Gourmand, launches a new edition of Talents Gourmands for the territories of Reunion and Mayotte. A way for the agricultural bank to reaffirm its roots in Reunion and Mayotte and its commitment to promoting the men and women who make the territories rich..
Who will be the next 2021-2022 Gourmand Talents from Reunion and Mayotte ? This “field to plate” competition highlights the entire local gastronomic industry through three categories of professions. : farmers, artisans, and cooks. These lovers of the region and good products will highlight their know-how. It takes place in three stages. From October 1 to November 14, candidates can register for free on the website www.talents-gourmands.fr. Registration is open to professionals whose head office is located in Reunion or Mayotte : farmers (viticulture, breeding, grandes cultures, fruits and vegetables, seafood products, individually or in an agricultural cooperative), food artisans (butchers, bakers, caterers, pastry chefs, chocolatiers, butchers…), cooks (salaried or owner cooks, except fast and collective catering). Then, from November 22 to December 5, the jury will select two candidates per category to go directly to the final and, from December 20 to January 2, the public will choose a third finalist in each category online. On this occasion, several prizes will already be up for grabs. Finally will come the stage of the regional final, January 28, 2022 : each finalist will present their creation to a jury made up of various professionals, star chefs, agri-food partners, consular chambers, presse… At the end of the final, the jury will designate the three winners who will become the Talents Gourmands 2021- 2022 !
More than 15,000 euros to be won
The Talents Gourmands competition rewards all the finalists : 3,000 euros for each winner, 1,000 euros for each finalist, insertions in recognized culinary magazines, various gifts from competition partners… Everyone benefits from expanded communication during and after the competition to make themselves known and develop their activity. The previous edition of the regional Talents Gourmands de la Réunion competition brought together 48 candidates : 11 farmers, 17 artisans and 20 cooks. Chaired by Philippe Agesidame, chef of Lux de Saint-Gilles, the jury chose the winners : in the Farmers category, Katiuscia Payet (The Bourbon Banana Grove, Saint-Leu) ; in the Artisan category, Christelle Nandjan (Nugget and Cherry Pastry, The Stamp) and, in the Cooks category, Valerie Lucas (Cassava & Co, St.Paul).
