Bee Run Apiculture intends to create a cooperative for the installation and management of apiaries in business in order to participate in the preservation of the exceptional environment of the island.. The project aims to have an impact on three aspects : an environmental education component with hive rental, animations, etc. ; an epidemiological surveillance component to participate in regional monitoring of bee pests, a biomonitoring component for the diagnosis and monitoring of the quality of natural environments using bees. These three components “feed on each other”: the network of hives in companies provides indicators for monitoring and biomonitoring, the results of which feed awareness and educational actions.
