An on-demand night transport service will be tested by Semto to allow the movement of workers and night owls between the Hauts de Saint-Paul and the seaside area.
This experiment comes from a wish of the Western Territory (ex-TCO) supported by the results of a study by the Union of Hotel Industry Trades, on the obstacles to employment in the West. Indeed, many young people are forced to refuse jobs due to lack of transport allowing them to return home peacefully, especially when they live in the Hauts. Reserved for adult users, this new service will operate every day from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., leaving from Hauts de Saint-Paul towards the seaside resort. Interested users will reserve their place via a specific application, with a price of the trip set at 5 euros. Semto is also the manager of the Mobi’Ouest electric-assisted bicycle rental service.. The Western Territory Community Council validated in December the acquisition of one hundred additional electrically assisted mountain bikes, to reduce user waiting times. 460,000 euros will be devoted to this action in 2024. The Mobi’Ouest service currently includes 425 urban bikes and 125 electrically assisted mountain bikes.
