The Flame Festival s’internationalise

Notice to agencies, independent, advertisers and other communication creatives… Next October, the Association of Communication Agencies organizes The Flame Festival in Mauritius in collaboration with The Loeries, non-profit association rewarding the creativity and know-how of communication professionals in Africa and the Middle East. A competition open to agencies in the Indian Ocean region.

Taking place from October 9 to 13, 2023, this major festival will include a day of conferences by international communication experts. Focused around the main theme “Communicating in a constantly changing world”, The Flame Festival will also include the Awards evening to celebrate and reward the most creative and innovative campaigns and content from the Indian Ocean region.. Several activities will be organized to promote marketing professions, advertising and communication in general. All stakeholders are concerned : advertisers, agencies, freelancers and service providers. The themes of the conference day will be “Communication in the Metaverse”, “Communication in times of crisis”, “Communication for a sustainable world”, “Comm’ for content addicts”, “Creative Comm’ to boost areas”, and “Artificial Intelligence : revolutionize the industry”. Five international experts will come and share their knowledge.

A regional competition
Chaired by Aisha Allee, manager of the communications agency Blast Réunion, The Association of Advertising Agencies of Mauritius was born in 1970. She is at the origin, from the 1990s, of the first Advertising and Communication Awards in Mauritius, devenus en 2017 The Flame Mauritius Design & Advertising Festival. Africa and the Middle East's first prize for creative excellence in the advertising and brand communications industry, The Loeries is a non-profit company that has been in existence for over forty years. “The Loeries is a true reference in communication for the Africa and Middle East region”, underlined Aisha Allee last October when announcing the organization of this new Flame Festival which will be “different from previous ones and will bring great added value for the entire communication industry, both for advertisers and agencies. We are opening the festival for the entire Indian Ocean region. »

Applications close June 30
Regarding the Communication Awards, 18 categories will put brands in competition. From May 2, the entry registration and payment platform will be open on the Flame/Loeries website. In addition to downloading elements to the appropriate spaces, the platform will also allow each agency, company or individual to enter information on the campaign(s) they wish to submit in competition. After the closing of applications scheduled for June 30, the files will be sent to the members of the international jury of the competition for the grading of the projects. The final deliberation will take place during the Loeries in South Africa. The president of the jury will announce the finalists and winners of each category during the awards ceremony in October in Mauritius. A competition is planned for young designers under 35 and young creative students from the region.
