Last November, the Ministry of Health and Solidarity launched a call for projects from associations fighting against poverty, with a budget of 100 million euros, two thirds of which were reserved for local projects. 80 projects were submitted to Reunion and 21 were selected. They will share an endowment of 2,62 million euros, the first grant agreements will be signed in May. 8 of them concern the fight against poverty and access to essential goods : collection of clothes and shoes in the East, distribution of food parcels in Plaine-des-Cafres, traveling solidarity grocery store, strengthening the resources of Red Cross volunteers… 4 projects concern access to rights : raise the voice of people supported in medical-social establishments and services to make their opinions heard, facilitate access to housing for young people from the RSMA, urgent technical interventions on housing for the most isolated people, particularly by supporting self-rehabilitation projects, The family support projects selected concern the creation of a reception center in Basse-Terre, support after leaving child welfare, help for vulnerable populations in the gaps of Saint-Joseph, the creation of two solidarity daycare centers in the East and a traveling budgetary advice service in the gaps in the South. Finally, 5 social and professional integration projects were selected : deployment of the stage.re platform, who helps you find an internship in a company, a work-study contract, training or employment, local social support in Saint-Joseph, development of an agricultural production activity with a social vocation in Sainte-Marie, creation of an organic solidarity garden in Sainte-Suzanne and organization of various workshops for vulnerable people in Saint-Pierre.
