Reunion will benefit from an envelope of 252 million euros until 2029 to finance the development of health establishments on the island, within the framework of the “Ségur de la santé” agreements. 122 million euros will be paid to the most indebted public health establishments, so that they “can regain financial room for maneuver for their current investment program”, indicates the ARS. This is the CHU and its various establishments, of the Ouest Réunion Hospital Center and the Est Réunion Hospital Group. Extension and rehabilitation operations will also be supported to the tune of 110 million euros, private establishments will also be able to claim it. The ARS has already identified 7 projects eligible for this envelope. 20 million euros will also be injected, until 2029, in “everyday investments”, work and purchases of equipment likely to improve the quality of service provided to patients and working conditions. The Regional Health Agency also announces the upcoming creation of two new accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people in the East and the South of the island and renovation operations of certain existing nursing homes. This effort should “allow a partial catch-up of the island’s equipment rate compared to that of the mainland”, according to the ARS.
