The regional committee of sea fisheries and marine farms (CRPMEM) and the research institute for development (IRD) on February 20, participated in a day of discussion which was the conclusion of the Pop size program, funded by the European Union and aimed at improving knowledge of fishery resources in the Indian Ocean. Current studies have been mentioned : Satellite monitoring of tuna travel, Espadons and Marlins in the southwest of the Indian Ocean for the management of Fishing of Fishing, the application of new genetic abundance estimation tools in order to understand the evolution of populations, New more innovative and selective fishing techniques (including the development of artificial bait), Or the prototype experiments aimed at fighting against the depredation of the catches and limiting the accessory sockets ... The CRPMEM also presented two projects which it intends to launch this year this year. The first concerns an innovative and instrumented float for the acquisition of oceanographic and acoustic data at sea, coupled with an anchored sector. The second aims to reconstitute certain stocks of commercial fish by capturing postlarves at sea, Earth farming on aquaculture farm then the reintroduction of juveniles in the coastal strip under protected artificial habitats.
