A new 100% pei product has just joined the shelves of Reunion Island. Sweet potato and cassava chips, made exclusively with quality local products for aperitifs or picnics.

Made with products from farmers in Reunion Island, the Salédos range offers chips made from cassava and sweet potatoes. At the initiative of this project which took a year to mature, Yann Bacconnet, young entrepreneur who embarked on the adventure by creating the Salédos brand, convinced that we could bring péi quality to aperitif time with chips made from good local vegetables. Even the oil is produced in Reunion, as well as the massale and the salt, the latter coming from the Saint-Leu Saltworks. Three references are offered to the consumer. Sweet potato chips, flagship product of the range, combine three varieties of sweet potatoes : the White one (the most classic), orange (the sweetest, also nicknamed the carrot) and the red (the least known, nicknamed the beet). This mixture aims to awaken flavors and mixtures of flavors that are different although similar., associated with the color of the chips. Second Salédos product, cassava chips : they are produced from cassava grown in the heights of Sainte-Suzanne using sustainable agriculture for maximum quality. Finally,, variation of the previous recipe with the unique and appetizing scent of massalé, masalé cassava chips.

An expected product
Another major asset : Salédos chips are deliberately very lightly salted (salt abuse is contraindicated for health). They are preservative-free and gluten-free. This is clearly a new and welcome product in a segment, the PSA, where local production leaves many consumers hungry due to its timidity, apart from rare initiatives. But above all it’s a new way to surprise guests at aperitif time, during festive evenings or as a picnic starter with original chips with Reunion flavors. A new opportunity to promote the short circuit.
