Innovation of Ericka Bareigts’ first term, the participatory budget of the city of Saint-Denis allows financing, up to 1,5 million euros per year, projects developed by administrators. The second edition was launched in mid-April. The Dionysians have until June 5 to propose projects which will first be analyzed by the city services, then submitted to a citizen vote at the end of the year. Information meetings on participatory budgeting were organized throughout the month of May in neighborhoods across the city.. Associations and individuals alike have the possibility to submit a project, it being understood that the latter should not generate any new operating expenses for the municipality, that it cannot include financial remuneration for the person who wears it and obviously falls within the scope of municipal competences. The selected projects will benefit from maximum funding of 80,000 euros. In 2021, during the first edition, 289 projects were proposed and 23 selected. These are currently being implemented : shared gardens, an educational vegetable garden, the development of a pump track circuit (bumps and turns for cross bikes), the creation of a third place, parking spaces for bicycles in front of schools…
