This great recognition reported from the International Agricultural Show, which was held from February 24 to March 3, notably crowned the subtle art of aging rum, which makes the reputation of the Rivière du Mât house.
Reunion won a total of 32 medals : 15 en or, 11 in silver and 6 in bronze. Two prestigious medals were won by Rivière du Mât during this competition which rewarded the know-how of French rums. The gold medal for Rivière du Mât was obtained for its novelty, Age Account 15 years : fifteen long years of aging were devoted to perfecting the extraction of this extra-aged rum, aged in new Cognac-style red oak barrels in a tropical climate in Saint-Louis. The Silver Medal celebrated the 1886 Cuvée : this rum is a blend of three vintages — 2003, 2004 and 2006 — with generous scores, flamboyant and charming. An excellent result for the Reunion house which once again underlines the quality of its mastery in the art of aging.
