Following on from the conference of presidents of ultra-peripheral regions, which was held on November 14 and 15 in Brussels, a partnership session brought together the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, MEPs and the States concerned (France, Spain, Portugal). In this context, the Minister Delegate for Overseas Territories, Jean-François Carenco, announced the government's intention to carry out an audit on the implementation of article 349, which recognizes the specificities of the ORs, with the aim of optimizing its application. The president of the Réunion region, for her part, pleaded “for a tailor-made approach for each OR and for article 349 to take its place, all its place, in European policies”.
