Launched October 31, ReFé is a company specializing in iPhone reconditioning in Reunion. Based in Saint-Denis, it offers high-end reconditioned devices, in perfect working and aesthetic condition, with two years of warranty and local after-sales service distributed between three workshops.
Refurbished mobiles have become an attractive solution for Reunion Islanders who wish to equip themselves with high-end, high-performance models at prices up to 30% below the new market and limiting their environmental impact.. To this day however, the nearly 30,000 reconditioned mobiles sold each year on the Reunion market are imported. Member of the charter of the Responsible Digital Institute, ReFé's mission is to bring together a circular ecosystem to extend the lifespan of equipment in Reunion Island. The environmental impact of a refurbished device is estimated to be up to eight times less significant than that of a new smartphone.. ReFé aims to avoid more than 60 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in its first year of activity. “I usually say that our model is “win-win-win” : for consumers, for the planet and for the local economy”, declares Constance Idrac, co-founding partner of ReFé.
A grade A+ reconditioning
A reconditioned iPhone is a used device that will undergo an in-depth “refacelift” before being put back on the market.. The refurbished product is subject to a rating system called “grade” allowing the consumer to understand the condition of the device they wish to purchase.. An A+ grade means that the phone is in perfect functional and aesthetic condition., while a grade B means that it shows traces of use such as micro-scratches for example. ReFé’s choice is to only offer grade A+. The reconditioning process is therefore very strict with more than 60 control points to identify the parts to be refurbished., as well as systematic replacement of batteries with new “high capacity” ones (110 %). The refurbished device benefits from a two-year warranty.

To carry out its mission, ReFé benefits from the know-how and expertise of its partners : Microstor, with its QualiRépar-certified repair workshops, et Back2Buzz, a European leader in high-end reconditioned products. Until the end of December 2024, the iPhone ReFé can be discovered at Zeop, Who, one year ago, has decided to stop marketing mobiles with a low repairability rate. From January 2025, the distribution of Refé refurbished mobiles will gradually extend to all smartphone sales points on the island.
