More than a competition, the Talents Gourmands competition is intended to be a moment of sharing and conviviality between fans of gourmet cuisine rich in local products. This competition rewards the know-how of committed producers, of cooks and artisans who make up the rich culinary heritage of Reunion Island, in Mayotte and beyond our borders.
Organized by Crédit Agricole Mutuel de La Réunion, in partnership with the gastronomic guide Bottin Gourmand, the fourth edition of the Talents Gourmands competition is now launched. Registrations were open until October 30, 2022 to farmers, cooks and food artisans. More than 15,000 euros in prizes are up for grabs for all the finalists at Lux Saint-Gilles, next February 3.
From October 3 to 30, candidates could register for free on the website www.talents-gourmands.fr. The competition is open to farmers and professionals whose head office is located in Reunion or Mayotte. Farmers who own their farm individually or in an agricultural cooperative : breeding, grandes cultures, fruits and vegetables, viticulture, seafood products… Cooks, employees or owners of the company, except fast and collective catering. Food craftsmen, employees or owners of the company : butchers, bakers, caterers, pastry chefs, chocolatiers, butchers….
Six finalists and three winners
Internet users will be able to vote online for their favorite candidate in each profession category and try to win prizes.. The candidate with the most votes in their category will be selected for the final. This will take place on February 3, 2023 at the Lux hotel in Saint-Gilles. Each finalist will present their work to a jury made up of various professionals : star chefs, agri-food partners, presse, representatives of Crédit Agricole and Bottin Gourmand… At the end of the final, the jury will designate the three winners who will become the Talents Gourmands 2023. The Talents Gourmands competition rewards all the finalists : the three winners win 3,000 euros each and the six finalists 1,000 euros each, as well as a recognized title in the culinary world, gifts from Crédit Agricole, from Bottin Gourmand and our partners… Without forgetting the media relay around the competition. As a reminder, the 2021 edition of the Talents Gourmands competition mobilized 49 candidates including 9 farmers, 23 artisans and 17 cooks. Louis Antier, pitaya producer in Saint-André, won in the Farmer category, Julien Leveneur, from Iloha Seaview Hotel, in that of the Artisans, and Jehan Colson, chef of the restaurant La Fabrique in Saint-Denis, in that of the Cooks.
