“How do you experience the relationship with your accountant or chartered accountant? ? » This is the investigation that Regate.io, collaborative digital platform between accountants and their clients, carried out with 4,237 professionals. A survey which reveals strong concerns and expectations regarding accounting and financial management which they consider to be too complex.
It is not because you create a business that financial management can be improvised. But 63% of business creators, entrepreneurs or self-employed people interviewed perceive their management tasks as “complicated” or “time-consuming”. Pour 88 %, it is the follow-up of customers to be paid which is the least easy operation to carry out, just ahead of obtaining up-to-date and real-time reporting at 82% and the management and transmission of supporting documents and invoices for 66%.. For this reason, only 41% of professionals say they are satisfied with the management of their accounting. In details, 13% are extremely so and 28% are just enough. So, more than 42% are moderately happy with their accounting and 17% not at all. Among all the criteria linked to accounting and financial management sought by entrepreneurs and managers, three stand out clearly. At the top of the ranking for 67% : lower costs and above all more transparent. In second place : a single global tool to manage accounting and finance with 62% representativeness. Finally, in the top 3 with 61% responses : advice to optimize the company's finances.
Many expectations
For several years, tools and services dedicated to accounting have evolved enormously. Nearly 78% of professionals believe that their accountant or chartered accountant is not completely in tune with the new financial tools available on the market. In details, 37% are considered by their customers to be moderately comfortable with new products and 41% not at all. Finally, professionals are divided on the costs of accountants. Indeed, 27% of entrepreneurs find that their prices are not appropriate. However, if 52% find them a little too high in relation to the service provided, more than 21% believe they are fair and completely appropriate. “It is paradoxical to note that professionals expect personalized advice and efficient management tools from their accountants and are not always ready to pay the corresponding price. Financial management requires highly qualified expertise and therefore a substantial budget to be able to carry it out efficiently and professionally” underlines Laura Pallier, co-founder of Regate.io.

Survey carried out among 4,237 professionals (entrepreneurs, independent, company employees, etc.) on LinkedIn networks, Facebook and Twitter between July 9 and August 16, 2021, all sectors of activity combined and spread across the entire French territory.
