The freight forwarders and carriers union (TLF Meeting) and the container handling union (GEM PR TC) have decided to work together to set up a steering committee aimed at improving port operations : speed of recovery of full containers, disposal of empty containers, occupation of the medians… So many subjects that have been annoying for several months in Port Réunion, due to the disruption of global maritime traffic but also the permanent unavailability of two of its four container gantry cranes, which will not be replaced for a year. Freight forwarders, transporters and handlers have the ambition to put all the data straight, by identifying blocking points and inviting all parties to contribute to improving the situation.
