Launched at the start of the year by Emmanuelle Habot, the Reunion brand Pitaya Kosmetik offers a range of five natural and organic cosmetic treatments, from Indian Ocean assets.
“I created this brand with the desire to offer a simple beauty routine, effective and essential, by highlighting local assets like Brède Mafane, geranium hydrosol or pineapple powder”, explains Emmanuelle Habot. Pitaya Kosmetik defines itself as “a committed brand”, born from the desire to offer natural products, organic and suitable for all skin and hair types. The first range, The Essential, marketed since January 2023, is distributed in mainland France and Reunion Island. The active ingredients in this range are natural and sourced in the heart of the Indian Ocean. To offer maximum naturalness, Pitaya is developing within this range two formulas of solid hair products with a minimum of 98% ingredients of natural origin certified organic Cosmos Organic by Ecocert, and zero waste.
Concentrated active ingredients for greater efficiency
Considering that water, which generally makes up 60% to 90% of cosmetic products, doesn't do much for the skin, Pitaya Kosmetik has chosen water-free formulas to obtain compositions that are much more concentrated in active ingredients., for greater efficiency. For textures requiring an aqueous phase, the brand prefers to use hydrosols, which act as solvents while concentrating active ingredients of interest to the skin. Pitaya Kosmetik also makes a point of reducing, or even delete, waste generated by its activity. It is for this reason that the brand chose, among others, glass jars and bottles for its non-solid products.
The Essential range
The cream of the islands
It deeply hydrates and is suitable for all skin types.. Based on passion fruit oil, known for its regenerating action, geranium hydrosol, which brings radiance and softness to the skin, and brede mafane extract to smooth and dewrinkle the skin.
Island oil
A multifunctional treatment (visage, body and hair) with tropical scents of ylang-ylang and frangipani. The oils making up this treatment act in synergy to sublimate the skin, repair hair, while leaving the skin soft and satiny, without greasy effect.
The balm of the islands
Its natural composition based on pineapple and coconut stem powders allows light exfoliation to eliminate dead cells.. Coconut oils, passion fruit and sesame provide softness and hydration.
Island shampoo and conditioner
Two solid beauty allies for hair. The shampoo is based on coconut oil, passion fruit and kaolin, washes gently and leaves a delicate scent of frangipani. The conditioner is made from shea butter, passion fruit oil and natural active ingredients which nourish and detangle, leaving hair soft and shiny.
