Manager of the companies Leal Réunion and Leal Distribution Réunion, importer in the food and automobile industries, Philippe-Alexandre Rebboah succeeds Fabrice Hanni as president of the SICR.
Like every year, the general assembly of the Réunion Import and Trade Union (SURE) reunited, last November 24, its members to present the results of the year. The highlights of 2022 were presented, namely obtaining the Efficiency label, proof of the exemplary nature of the SICR in terms of social responsibility, the positive results of waste collections for the REP sectors, or the transport of 5,000 tonnes of hazardous waste to Le Havre. SICR members were also able to discuss with Denis Choumert, President of the Freight Transport Users Association (AUTF) and vice-president of the European Shippers' Council, on freight market trends for the year 2023, and have an overview of the international market. The general assembly concluded with the election of its new office, who brought Philippe-Alexandre Rebboah to his presidency. “Importers play a preponderant role on an island territory like Reunion Island. We must all be aware of this and defend this added value. I will work on it during this mandate. I salute the work carried out by my predecessor and thank the union chamber for its confidence”, declared the new president of the SICR.
