The operator launched the Repeater integrating the Wi-Fi 6 standard at the beginning of April to provide an even faster connection throughout the home.
Wi-Fi 6 significantly improves wifi throughput and connection speed : it allows you to enjoy a smoother experience for internet browsing, le streaming, video or online games, even when the whole family is connected. Connected directly to the Livebox via Ethernet, Orange's new repeater makes the Livebox Wi-Fi 6 compatible without any hardware changes. Very easy to install, it configures itself automatically and selects the best frequency band and optimal channel. The TV Decoder can now connect directly via wifi to one of the repeaters to enjoy Orange TV in complete freedom, without distance constraints. We use it wherever we want regardless of the distance between the TV and the Livebox. Finally for an even more simplified and optimized implementation, the new Wifi Repeater 6 can plug directly into a wall socket and be more discreet.
A latest generation repeater
The new repeater is part of Orange’s CSR commitments since its shell is made from 65% recycled plastic, making its carbon impact lower than that of its predecessor. Its release responds to the development of uses and the increase in the number of connected devices per household. More than 50% of smart phones sold by Orange are now Wi-Fi 6 compatible. The Wifi Repeater 6 is available, for rent, for all internet offers. It is also available for purchase for general public customers. It is available in Orange distribution channels, physical stores and customer service by telephone.
