New Deck Taste Beers & Donohue

The independent and artisanal French brasserie Deck & Donohue presents two new certified organic beers : a Porter and a special Buckwheat beer.

The 1721 Porter, a winter beer
A black beer, rich and roasted, creamy and delicious, the 1721 Porter takes us back to 1721, in London where the first “Porter” was brewed. The new winter beer from the Deck brewery & Donohue is a tribute to one of the oldest beer styles. The favorite beer of London dockers (porter, taken from French porter), who celebrated their camaraderie over a beer that ended up bearing their name. Note that 1721 Porter goes wonderfully with oysters for a roasted/iodized flavor pairing.. A historic agreement : oysters were at one time a “snack” popular in London pubs. Certified organic beer, organic and 100% French malts. 5 % Vol.

Alt, a special buckwheat beer
Alt means old in German. The “Alt” are amber beers originating from the Düsseldorf region. Their name refers to the ancient brewing methods used in the region. Another novelty from the Deck brewery & Donohue, Alt has the particularity of being brewed with buckwheat. The hazelnut notes complement the caramelized side of the malt for a delicious and fresh beer. This new special beer follows the guidelines dear to the brewery : highlighting old styles and using local ingredients, guided by the quest for taste and aromatic balance. Note that this buckwheat Alt can offer an original alternative to cider. Certified organic beer, organic and 100% French barley and buckwheat malts. 4,9 % Vol.

A brewery of new times
Founded in 2013 by Thomas Deck and Mike Donohue, the brewery started in Montreuil, in the Parisian suburbs, before moving three years later to Bonneuil sur Marne. In 2019, Deck beers & Donohue have been certified organic and the brewery has switched to renewable energy for its production. In 2020, the brewery was the first in the profession to choose the Mission-based Company legal framework created by the PACTE law of 2019.
