Since its launch in 2019, the second generation of Peugeot 2008 remained at the top of the podium in the B SUV segment, in Reunion as in mainland France. Peugeot offers it a redesign and a new electric motor consistent with its new identity, to maintain leadership.
The great wave of design renewal and the move upmarket of Peugeot models has now reached 2008. Enough to maintain first place on the SUV podium for this vehicle, first model in terms of sales of Caillé Auto, with an average of 900 to 1,000 units per year. In a clever change in continuity, Peugeot is giving itself the means to remain the star of the segment with this aesthetic and technological update, which modernizes the line and the engine to conquer a younger clientele more open to the world. Visually, the main change concerns the front, completely redesigned to integrate the new Peugeot identity : it is enlarged and muscular, receives the new full LED projectors, and the new Peugeot emblem on the grille. New rims (16 to 18 inches) are available. Two new shades are appearing : okenite white and selenium gray. In back, the light signature changes from vertical to horizontal lighting. Technology goes up a notch inside with a larger central touchscreen (10 inches) giving access to Peugeot's on-board communicating technology (navigation, teleservice, security). The update is thus both technological and ergonomic. Finally, the move upmarket is also reflected in the more opulent trimmings of the new upholstery. Other comfort to note : automatic air conditioning is available in all three versions (Active, Allure and GT).
A new electric motor
The big novelty of the 2008 2023 version comes from its new 100% electric 156 hp engine. (against 136 hp in the previous model), offering up to 406 km of autonomy, or 60 km more. The thermal engines of the gasoline and diesel versions, them, don't change. Already available on the 3008 and 5008, Peugeot's PureTech mild hybrid technology will be extended to the new 2008 in 2024.
