Closed for over a year, the Department of Reunion store in Paris, located rue du Renard, in the Marais district, will be taken over by two private operators. The Union of Agri-Food Processors of Reunion Island (OUTSIDE) and SCA Fruits joined forces following a call for projects launched by the departmental council to form the company Nout’Kaz, whose sign will adorn the facade of 21, rue du Renard, from the end of October. The store will be a point of sale and promotion of Reunion products. President of UTAR, Cédric Daly, also founder of the company Oté Gran Mèr, describes the concept : “Nout’Kaz will offer a selection of fresh agri-food products (mangrove José, pineapples Victoria, lettuce, darling bredes…) and transformed (Oté Gran Mèr products, vanilla, Hoareau confectioneries and Émilie confectioneries, Mom lafé, the Banana Groves of Bourbon…), he details. Ultra-fresh products exported by SCA Fruits will be available once a week as they leave the plane. The 70 m2 basement will remain a gallery intended to highlight Reunion artists, we will entrust its management to specialists. The official opening is scheduled for October 27. Saturday 28, we will organize an open day, with tastings. » Nout’Kaz has already recruited its director, who will officiate alone at first. The recruitment of work-study students is subsequently considered depending on the development of the activity. Close to City Hall and Notre-Dame, the 21st, rue du Renard also houses the Paris branch of the departmental council. The Department opened a food and craft store there in 2015 which closed its doors in 2019. An attempt to resume in 2022 had also failed.
