The Citizens’ Mobility Assembly was officially installed on October 14 by the Region, in the presence of the president of the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP), Marc Papinutti.

Made up of 100 people, this body aims to become a space for the co-construction of public policies between elected officials, technicians and citizens. Its establishment marks the starting point of the second phase of the States General of Mobility, initiated by the Regional Council. The citizen consultation organized from May 9 to July 23 received nearly 11,000 contributions. It led to the drafting of a report published on September 22, available on the CNDP website and which contains a series of proposals. The improvement and development of public transport is an imperative necessity for the public, which “calls for rail transport solutions (train, tram), guided and/or cabled… In the medium term, the creation of a regional rail network, inter and intra-urban, seems obvious”. For the citizens consulted, improving traffic conditions requires a range of solutions ranging from the modernization of flow management to the development of carpooling, including the postponement of goods transport to off-peak hours, etc.
