The solarist Michel Dijoux succeeded Daniel Moreau (Royal Bourbon Industries) as president of Adir, during the general meeting held on October 6 in Saint-Denis. When he spoke, the new president recalled the need to “protect” the mechanisms for compensating for the handicaps of Reunion companies, “Which are getting worse as our competitors achieve economies of scale”. Supporting businesses internationally will be one of Michel Dijoux’s priorities, who welcomed the establishment by the Region of a Strategic Council for the internationalization of businesses. “We need exchanges of experiences”, he declared, underlining the interest of the Export Club approach and calling for the establishment of logistical support for exports, like the one that exists for import. In the presence of Huguette Bello, president of the region, European aid management authority, the president of Adir deplored the frequent inadequacy of the administrative calendar for managing aid : “An industrial project must be supported when it needs it, not when the administration is ready”, recalled Michel Dijoux.
