While Pôle Emploi recently published statistics on job seekers registered in the first quarter of 2021, Weather job, CleverConnect group job search site, analyzed and compared all the job offers offered on its platform in April 2020 and April 2021.
What are the most demanded professions? ? Which sectors are recruiting the most? ? What trends and developments (overall and by sector), compared to the same period last year ? The data collected by Meteojob allowed the recruitment expert to draw up an inventory of employment in France. Among the first lessons : a clear increase in job offers. Certain sectors indeed offer numerous recruitment opportunities, notably Health and Distribution, with the professions of order preparer and forklift driver widely represented. Meteojob records a clear increase in job offers published on its site : + 48 %. The increase in job offers, already noted by the recruitment expert last December, is confirmed in this first quarter of 2021. This 48% increase in job offers mainly concerns the temporary employment sector (+73 %) and permanent contracts (+ 43 %). For youth employment, work-study and apprenticeship contracts are on the rise (+142 %). While the situation of young people in France is worrying due to the health crisis, Meteojob records a sharp increase in work-study and apprenticeship contracts : +142% compared to 2020.
Health in the Top 3
The Hotel and Catering sector did not resist this first quarter, while the Distribution and Retail sector maintains. Faced with the constraints linked to the health crisis, the Hospitality and Catering sector, heavily impacted, is no longer part of the Top 10 sectors recruiting this first quarter of 2021. The Distribution sector & Retail business, on the other hand, holds up well (+ 105 %) due to the maintenance of large-scale retail brands and the occasional openings of certain small businesses. Healthcare is in the Top 3 of hiring sectors. In second position in the Top sectors that are recruiting, the health sector continues to be in demand for personnel, with increased needs for more than a year. Without surprise, the nursing profession is at the top of the ranking of professions recruiting at the start of 2021.
