The shipping company Mer Union, which connects the Indian Ocean to the metropolis directly, has developed with the transport of construction equipment and materials necessary for major works, starting with those of the Tamarins route in the 2000s and today those of the new Littoral route. The disruptions to maritime freight caused by the health crisis having put an end to the usual transport of waste by large regular companies, Mer Union was contacted and proposed its solution. Next April 23, a third ship chartered by Mer Union will leave the port of Pointe des Galets with, on board, hazardous waste from Mayotte and Reunion to take it to Le Havre
