Clinifutur will build the first private clinic
Already present in Mayotte in the field of dialysis, the Reunion group Clinifutur will build the first private clinic in the 101st French department, in the south of Grande Terre. After obtaining the green light from the Regional Health Agency, Michel Deleflie's group received that of the commune of Chirongui at the beginning of February, who declassified and agreed to sell 5 hectares of land which will accommodate the future establishment, at a place called Miréréni.
Half of the 120 beds announced should be operational within two years. The medical and surgical services offered by the clinic should relieve congestion at the Mayotte Hospital Center and limit the use of medical evacuations to Reunion Island.. Clinifutur will recruit staff locally but will mainly call on its doctors and specialized nurses who will regularly come on mission to Mayotte.
The Mahorais public hospital must for its part acquire a second site, which will be created in the commune of Combani, announced the Ministry of Overseas at the beginning of February.
23,724 returned to the border in 2021
As part of the fight against illegal immigration, 23,724 people returned to the border – that of neighboring Comoros in 99% of cases – were carried out last year in Mayotte. The number of these operations fell in 2020 due to the health crisis.
