Albioma inaugurates an electricity storage center
The Albioma group inaugurated on November 17 in Longoni a set of six batteries with a power of 7,4 megawatts and a capacity of 14,9 megawatts/hour, powered by photovoltaic power plants during periods of strong sunshine.
The installation already allows Electricité de Mayotte to call for power to inject it into the network during peaks in consumption.. Albioma was chosen by the Energy Regulatory Commission in 2019 during the first call for projects relating to storage facilities in Mayotte.
The Combani shopping center takes shape
CBo Territoria confirmed at the end of October the good progress of its shopping center project in Combani, in the center of Grande Terre. The complex will notably house a supermarket under the Carrefour brand., a Mr.Bricolage store, a C’Tam clothing store and 17 boutiques currently being marketed. The opening of the shopping center is planned for September or October 2023. The project provides for a second phase which will accommodate premises of 90 to 130 m².
An organic sector is trying to emerge
Last May, 11 Mahorais farmers were approved to settle on a 19 hectare site, made available by the municipality of Bandrélé and the Public Land and Development Establishment of Mayotte. Market gardening, pineapple, vanilla, manioc : the different crops planted avoid any use of chemical pesticides, with the aim of obtaining Organic Agriculture certification. The department currently has only three organic farms. The absence of a certifying body and organic seed nursery on the island, however, complicates the process., supported by public authorities.
Malagasy meat imported in 2024 ?
Aunt Chanfi, vice-president of the Departmental Council of Mayotte, announced that the project to import Malagasy meat was on track. The community is in fact supporting a project leader who is currently investing in a slaughterhouse on the Big Island.. The installation will be monitored from a health point of view by the Pasteur Institute and will respect the standards allowing export to a community territory., indicates the elected official from Mahor.
