Long track : an alternative in Grande- Terre
Is the opening of the construction site of a long runway at Pamandzi airport for 2026?, as announced ? Since the development of the technical scenarios of the operation, about ten years ago, a new parameter has appeared : the discovery of an underwater volcano off the coast of Petite-Terre, synonymous with natural risks which remain very difficult to assess. During a steering committee organized at the beginning of September in the presence of senior civil aviation officials, the solution of creating a new airport in the north of Grande-Terre was discussed.. Soon a Quality-Price Shield
The Price Quality Shield should be a reality in Mayotte in the coming weeks, following the commitment made at the end of August during his visit to the 101st French department by the Minister Delegate for Overseas Territories, Jean-François Carenco. Mayotte is faced with the return of inflation in a particularly tense social context. To cushion the shock, the departmental council came to support the State to lower the price of fuel from September 1, by temporarily reducing taxes on gasoline and diesel. The liter of unleaded is currently displayed at 1,53 euros in Mahoran service stations, that of diesel at 1,36 euro.

Waste : the difficulties of recovery
The environment commission of the Culture Council, of Education and the Environment, advisory body of the department of Mayotte, recently launched an alert on the inadequacies of waste collection and the difficulties in implementing the principles of the circular economy on the island. Several recycling project leaders would encounter difficulties accessing the resource (green waste, household appliances, construction waste, drink cans) which threaten the Dzoumogné landfill with saturation… and too often pollute nature.
