At the head of seven “malls” (shopping centers) among the most important in Mauritius, the Ascencia group, de Rogers branch, resisted the health crisis and the closure of borders well. At the end of the 2019-2020 financial year, which ends in June, Ascencia saw its net profit fall by 58%, while remaining largely profitable (406 million rupees in results, around 9 million euros). In the second quarter of 2020, its net operating profit reached 496 million rupees. The group has notably invested in a support plan for its tenants to guarantee health safety on its various sites.. Ascencia owns the Bagatelle “malls”, Phœnix, Rich Earth, Beau-Vallon (near Mahebourg), So’Flo (Floréal), Kendra and Les Allées (Saint Pierre, near Moka).
