Respect for people and products, Reunion chocolatier Mascarin adds respect for animals and nature with the limited edition Précieuse collection, fruit of a desire to help the Reunion NGO Globice to promote responsible behavior for observing whales. And more particularly observation from the coast thanks to the new Balèn Terla application.
More and more whales are frequenting the waters of Reunion to give birth and educate their calves. (nearly 1,200 last year), when the waters of Antarctica become too cold. The NGO Globice contributes to the scientific knowledge of this migration and to regulating the tourist enthusiasm that the arrival of whales arouses each year. In addition to a charter on observation conditions at sea, Globice designed Balèn Terla, an application to track the movements of whales around the island. The objective is in fact, today, to promote their observation from earth. It is to share with the people of Reunion this message and its admiration for the giant of the seas and the symbol that it represents that Mascarin imagined the Précieuse collection.. “We are going to offer our customers the opportunity to be as close as possible to the whale season with these two limited editions combining taste, aesthetics and territorial commitment”, explained Johana Amalou, marketing director of Mascarin, during the launch of this operation which took place from July 22 to August 31.
A precious memory
Six thousand chocolate bars with caramel and Saint-Leu salt and 3,000 collector’s metal boxes were produced for this testimony to Mascarin’s CSR commitment.. The very beautiful decor is by Vincent Bac, artistic director of the communications agency Livingstone. A leaflet from Globice explaining good observation practices was slipped into the box and, for each box purchased, 1 € was donated to the association. Distributed in large areas, limited edition tablets and boxes benefited from in-store promotions, competitions and a gift poster with any purchase of a collector’s box. The collection was also available duty free at Roland-Garros airport.. A precious souvenir to offer and enjoy.
