On January 30, the State and the General Social Security Fund of Reunion signed two regional conventions to combat illegal work in the hairdressing and photography sectors.. These conventions should make it possible to fight more effectively against fraudulent practices within these professions., by strengthening partnership work and collaboration between stakeholders, including the possibility of reporting any fraud situation. Targeted control actions will be organized, specifies the prefectural press release. Attention will be paid by the control services to all the necessary rules and particularly regarding the use of hidden work through social networks.. The hairdressing sector represents 1,204 establishments, including 878 lounges, and employs 787 employees in Réunion. As for photography, the sector has 440 establishments and brings together different types of professionals : advertising photographers, fashion photographers or even press photographers. These professions are often subject to unfair competition, which has been accentuated in particular via social networks. Some entrepreneurs, using these new methods of communication and promotion, conceal part of their activity, thus evading tax and social contributions. Others offer services without respecting the conditions of access and exercise of the profession.
