It is in the east of Reunion that Anyl Rajabaly, Optical Center franchisee, launches this innovative local service to help in the fight against medical deserts.
OC Mobile is deployed in September, in parallel with Anyl Rajabaly’s Optical Center stores. Equipped with high-tech equipment, the vehicle is accessible to people with reduced mobility, to meet isolated people in particular, and carry out free eye exams and hearing assessments in situ in optimal comfort. Covering an area from Sainte-Suzanne to Sainte-Rose, appointments can be made at home, and screening days will be organized in retirement homes, EHPAD, town halls, works councils and associations. Access to health professionals being unequal, the situation of the inhabitants of the East, but also from the Hauts de l’île or the rural South, is less favorable than that of the North or the West. Faced with this observation, Anyl Rajabaly a pour ambition, eventually, to cover the entire island of Reunion with its OC Mobile service. This innovative optician, committed to the cause of sight and hearing, has already opened three optical and hearing shops in Sainte-Clotilde, Saint Andrew and Saint Peter. It employs more than twenty people. Optical Center stores offer optical eyewear services, hearing aid, optometry… Free vision and hearing screenings are performed upon request.
