In response to growing demand, Liebherr, one of the world's leading construction machinery manufacturers, launched a project to expand its Kirchdorf production warehouse in Germany. Acting as project manager, STILL planned, delivered and installed the site's intralogistics technologies, including handling and shopping carts and the PXV, its latest high-rise order picker.
With 27,000 references to manage, the set of assembly parts is varied and generates up to 5,000 daily trips for STILL trolleys. The largest and heaviest parts are stored in a 22 meter high pallet rack. Eleven STILL MX-X narrow aisle tri-directional trucks prepare production orders daily on pallets and in mesh containers. Long and bulky parts are stored separately in a warehouse. Equipped with extra-long pivoting forks, the MX-X groups production orders on special pallets. “With a maximum picking height of 17,4 meters and a load capacity of 30 tonnes per shelving unit, we make the most of the potential of our pallet warehouse, » explains Jochen Rudolf, intralogistics manager at Liebherr.
A new era of order picking
Liebherr also opted for the new STILL PXV vertical order picker to achieve record picking heights of 14,5 meters. “Thanks to its extraordinary sampling height, we now constantly work at chest height, even on the highest shelf of our shelves. No more dangerous grabs at arm’s length”, rejoices Jochen Rudolf.
Increased comfort and safety for operators
The PXV offers a spacious cabin, ergonomic and intuitive controls, as well as intelligent assistance systems such as iGo pilot and OptiSpeed. These technologies guarantee immediate localization and rapid approach to storage locations in complete safety. Furthermore, the trolley is equipped with knee protection padding, a backrest and tilting gates, improving the comfort and safety of warehouse workers.
A modular design
The modular design of the PXV allows individual configuration suitable for a wide range of applications. The driving cabin, shock absorbing, features tilting gates for effortless access to goods. The ergonomic control console, available with steering wheel or steering knob, allows simple and efficient use of all truck functions.
