The permanent commission of the Réunion Region voted on October 25, unanimously, the acquisition by the regional authority of part of the Bellepierre hotel with a view to installing the future premises of the Institute for Health Studies North.
The IES Nord has been installed for a dozen years in modular buildings located on the grounds of the former Ozoux camp hospital., in precarious and inadequate conditions, justifies the Region. The community responds to a request from the University Hospital. The Bellepierre Hotel, due to its proximity to the Félix-Guyon hospital site, represents a major interest for exchanges with practicing health professionals. Following the definitive acquisition of the establishment, pour 7,6 million euros, the site will be transformed over an area of 5,000 m2 in order to install all of the health training courses at IES Nord : the Nursing Training Institute (IFSI), the Nursing Assistant Training Institute (IFAS) and the Paramedic Training Institute (IFA). The cost of the extension and rehabilitation project is estimated at 18 million euros. The site will ultimately accommodate nearly 500 students and around thirty permanent staff..
