The presentation of the trophies of Assistance to professional training for adults in Reunion (AFPAR) filled, September 6, the Port events hall during an evening full of emotion, where often difficult life journeys have testified to the value of this organization.
This event organized by AFPAR celebrated the commitment of trainees and trainers who were involved in training based both on learning professional skills and on restoring self-confidence.. More than 900 trainees obtain a professional title from AFPAR each year, making this organization one of the largest adult training centers in Reunion Island. These training courses are completely free for job seekers, financed by the Réunion Region, via the European Social Fund more. Also this ceremony was part of the Training Month, initiated by the Region. On this occasion, several life stories showed the real challenge of skills gains. “The event echoes the orientations of the Réunion Region and is directly part of the European FSE+ 2021-2027 program. This is a strategic operation for Reunion Island, aimed at highlighting the importance of professional training as a lever for transformation, both for individuals and for the territory. By promoting the career paths of graduate interns, the objective is to also highlight their crucial role in the dynamic of social advancement and innovation that AFPAR wishes to instill in Reunion”, declared Frédéric Dijoux, general director of AFPAR. “The Réunion Region is putting all its energy into transforming professional training, long seen as a palliative for academic failure, abandoned by regional public policies, so that it is considered up to what it deserves : an accelerator of professional success”, highlighted Karine Nabenesa, president of AFPAR and vice-president of the Region responsible for professional training.
A starting point
AFPAR's mission is to train and support job seekers in developing skills that can promote their social and professional integration.. With four training centers located in Saint-André, St Denis, Saint-Paul and Saint-Pierre, AFPAR extends throughout Reunion and meets the needs of different employment areas. Its approach to training results in the implementation of three educational principles : learn a profession in a reconstituted professional situation in a center, learn through action and learn through the collective. Added support for beneficiaries throughout the journey. A proven method. However, since its creation, never had AFPAR presented their precious sesame to the winners of titles and certifications during a public ceremony. The 900 winners of the 2023 vintage are the first to be honored in this way.
