For the first time since August 2022, INSEE measured a drop in prices on the island, in June 2023 (-0,3 %). Reunionese inflation is thus reduced to 2% over twelve months, against 4,5% in mainland France. The fall in energy prices deepened in June (-3,4 %) driven by the sharp drop in the prices of petroleum products (-5,1 %). The prices of manufactured products, for their part, fell by 0,2% over the month after three consecutive months of increase, thanks to the reductions observed in clothing, shoes and health products. Prices of services remained stable after four months of increase, just like those of rents, health and communication services. On the other hand, prices for transport services continued to rise. (+ 6,8 %), driven mainly by the increase in air transport prices (+7 %). In food, prices increase more slightly (+0,1 %), after ten months of marked increase. Those of fresh products fell by 1% after jumping by 8,4% in May. Excluding fees, the increase in food prices was 0,2% in June, the lowest since September 2022.
