With 83 actions, the 2024 edition of the SEDD in Reunion, from September 18 to October 8, mobilized many local actors, institutions, associations and citizens, especially during World Clean Up Day.
Among the main actors of the SESD 2024, you must cite the prefecture, the Réunion region, the departmental council, the academy of Reunion, as well as committed partners such as the Réunion National Park, the NFB, the Grandir association, a network of education stakeholders, the BioMa association, which offers school workshops to raise awareness of biodiversity, and the nature reserve. Le World Clean Up Day, which was at the heart of this week, mobilized hundreds of citizens to clean the beaches and urban areas of the island. This event contributes each year to raising awareness among the population of the importance of preserving our island territory., where pollution quickly affects the ocean. World Clean Up Day also highlighted the strong commitment of young people when concrete action is proposed.. Another example : the educational land area (ATE) from the bottom of the Saint-Denis river. The objective is to raise students’ awareness of issues relating to sustainable development in the broad sense. (ecology, culture, heritage, economy). The ATE involves the fifth grade classes of Reydellet college. It is partly financed by the departmental council and will allow young people to clean and protect this space throughout the year..
