The urban fountains of Castalie

At the origin of an innovative concept of fountains, Castalie first attracted the CHR sector and several large companies. The company is today launching a range of urban fountains to help communities and establishments open to the public meet the obligations of the AGEC law..

French circular economy company, Castalie aims to market 10,000 urban fountains within five years, while 30,000 are missing in France, selon l’association No Plastic In My Sea. Castalie is one of the main players in the microfiltered water market with fountains installed in nearly 3,000 customers (hotels, tables of great chefs, large companies and even at the Élysée). The company is launching this new offer intended for local authorities and establishments open to the public (ERP) in order to provide them with concrete solutions to make drinking water accessible everywhere and to everyone. Designed by Elium Studio, the two models offered by Castalie — vertical fountains and wall fountains — are designed and produced by Otima Industries in Fougères, in Brittany. Easy to install, robust to resist bad weather and damage, they are resolutely low tech for a neutral carbon impact and maintenance reduced to the strict minimum. For more pleasure, the fountains offered by Castalie are customizable with logos, colors and messages from the municipality or ERP, performance halls, sports center, stations, airports, museums, shopping centers…

To fight against plastic pollution
The AGEC law imposes on communities, as well as ERP, install access points to drinking water. In addition to this obligation, the need for access to drinking water is increasing with increasingly frequent episodes of high heat. “This offer for communities demonstrates Castalie’s commitment to fighting plastic pollution by allowing the French to opt for the reusable bottle in all circumstances, it being understood that the best waste is that which is not produced”, recalls Thibault Lamarque, founding president of Castalia. Presented at the Salon des mayors in November 2023, this offer was acclaimed for its simplicity and effectiveness. “We are delighted that urban fountains can benefit from public subsidies, in order to accelerate its installation in the greatest number of communities and ERPs”, welcomed Thibault Lamarque, whose two models of public fountains are marketed at affordable prices

Castalie, solidarity enterprise of social utility
The fountain of Castalia, both real and mythological, is a spring that springs up at the foot of Mount Parnassus, in Greece. Thibault Lamarque created Castalie in 2011 to design and market fountains that microfilter and gasify network water to offer an alternative to bottled water. In 2015, the new Pure range, eco-designed, received the Janus industry prize for “ecodesign” and the Star of the Design Observer. The fountains are made in France. Very low environmental impact, they have attracted committed restaurants and hotels and prestigious companies. They have made it possible to avoid some 300 million plastic bottles since the start of the adventure. Approved solidarity company of social utility, Castalie now has 100 employees and achieved a turnover of 17 million euros in 2023. The company is a member of the BPI France start-up hub, des French Tech et French Fab.
