The labor needs of employers are increasing by 9% in Reunion in 2022, according to the annual Pôle Emploi survey, which identified 38,400 hiring forecasts. These forecasts increase by 12% in the public sector : 8,200 hiring projects estimated by the municipalities, educational establishments, school funds, municipal social action centers… Progress is less strong in the associative sector (7,500 hires, +3%), with recruitment mainly planned as part of the Skills Employment Pathway system. The private sector accounts for the largest share of recruitment projects (22 700, +10%), particularly in the business services sectors, trade and services to individuals. Jobs under pressure : skilled construction workers (freemasons, plasterers, tilers…), unskilled structural workers, self-service employees, kitchen employees… The 38,400 hiring projects will not necessarily materialize, However, Pôle Emploi points out. In more than half of the cases, private sector employers anticipate anticipated recruitment difficulties : lack of candidates, mismatch of profiles… These difficulties are more marked in the construction sectors, accommodation and catering, health and social action.
