The launch of the 2021-2027 programming of European funds was recorded on April 7 in the presence of the prefect, representatives of the Department, of the Region, of the European funds monitoring committee and the Agency for the management of local initiatives in European matters. Besides the ERDF, Europe finances the ESF in Reunion (European Social Fund), of which the Region and the State share the management authority, the European Maritime Fund, Fisheries and Aquaculture and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, of which the Department is the managing authority. Nine priority objectives have been selected for the EAFRD, endowed with 260 million euros, including improving the competitiveness of agricultural operations and preserving natural resources and biodiversity.
